The Pelahatchie High School Boys Soccer Team ended their season on January 1,2018. This is The school’s second year having a team, and some of the players say that the team has came a long way. Forward Cedrick Wilder says, “We lose a lot but we get better every game.”

The boys have won one game this year. The competition Pelahatchie is playing now is different from last year. This past season they played teams like St. Joseph, St. Andrews, Ridgeland, Richland, Clarksdale, and Southeast Lauderdale.

These teams have played soccer longer than pelahatchie. Head coach Patrick Creel said, “Those boys work hard, and if you watch them you  can tell.” The Team did not make it to playoffs this year. Forward Cedrick Wilder said, “We didn’t make it this year but I would like to make it next year for my senior year.”

The boys scored 13 goals for this season ,had about 39 saves in the goal, and had about 40 shots total.

Next year Coach Creel wants more players to play. If you are interested in playing soccer next year please talk to Coach Creel. The boys are selling chicken as fundraising for next year,so please see one of the players if you are interested in buying. They hope to fundraise enough money to get new jerseys next season. Next season don’t forget to come watch the chiefs play.
