Homecoming is finally here;  the votes are in, so let the cheering begin. As the year starts many Pelahatchie High School students are excited about homecoming.

The Pelahatchie High School student body recently elected the 2018-2019 Homecoming Court. Each grade selected a certain number of girls to represent their grade and Pelahatchie High School.

Starting with 7th grade, there were two maids elected, Linda Gandarilla and Kyndal Patton. 8th grade maids are Gracie Jones and Camden Patton.

Freshmen maids: Collins Doster, Lakindria Rideout, and Adlyn Till. Sophomore maids: Katie Belle Boyer, Brooklyn Johnson, Isabella Rust, and Chloe Walters.

Junior maids, Kimberly Cochran, Jacey Cooper, Abby Dawson, Aliza Myers, and Olivia Sirmon. And lastly your senior maids are Morgan Boyd, Tiara Collier, Keyanna Flores, Zharia Holifield, Sandra Lewis, Makayla McClure, and Kiaieshi Stokes.

Senior maid Keyanna Flores stated, “I was super excited about being elected to be on homecoming court this year. I feel that each girl is very happy about homecoming week and the actual’s definitely going to be one for the books!!”

Homecoming is a big event that the entire school participates in each year. We can’t forget that homecoming also provides an opportunity for reconnecting with old friends, having a good time and for the girls to show off their latest fashions.

One highlight that the maids and school look forward to is Spirit Week. Spirit Week is an entire week of dress up days that everyone can get involved with.

This years themes are Squad Day, Fanatic Day (wear your favorite college gear), Decades, Turn Up Thursday, and Friday Camo.

Thursday evening the student body, friends, and family will all come to downtown Pelahatchie for the homecoming parade. The parade will last about 30 minutes; then everyone will report to the football field for the pep-rally.

The last event of homecoming is the homecoming dance that Friday night. Students will dance the night away, having fun with friends on the dance floor.
