After previously having a dominant performance against their rivals the Morton Panthers, the Chiefs carried that same momentum to Madison, MS, to face the St. Joseph Bruins on their homecoming night.

The Chiefs had a positive start as they scored on the first two drives with back-to-back passes to junior Wide Receiver Kelreiz Stokes for two touchdowns. Along with the momentum gained offensively, they also played well defensively. They caused fumbles and seemed to not give the Bruins any breathing room offensively.

The Chiefs finished the first quarter with 20 points, while the Bruins remained scoreless.

The Chiefs kept the same style of dominant play offensively and kept the Bruins scoreless. By halftime the score was 41-0.

However, after halftime the Chiefs didn’t keep the same consistent play on offense and defense, as the second string players weren’t as efficient as the starters. Despite those factors, the second string limited the Bruins to only one touchdown for the third quarter.

In the final quarter, the second string players for the Chiefs began to improve their play offensively, scoring two touchdowns in the quarter. They played good defensively, limiting the Bruins to another quarter of scoring only one touchdown.

“It was a good win, but we’re ready to play those Wolves on homecoming night. It’s gonna be a real special game for Pelahatchie.” said, junior linebacker Ahmad Johnson.

The Chiefs will host their homecoming game against the visiting Puckett Wolves, one of their rival opponents.
