The Pelahatchie 2018-2019 baseball team started off their long year with an unfortunate loss but head coach Tip Nutt said, “I do not care that we lost. I am really proud of the effort and the improvements that you guys have made in the past weeks that we have been practicing, but O can already tell this year is going to be a great one.”  “Coach Nutt, Coach Wilder and Coach Parker have all three been working really great with us this year,” said Nick Boykin (one of the players) after their first game.

“There have been so many things that all these players have been working on since August to make themselves better and to try to become a championship team,” said Coach Wilder, the assistant baseball coach.

All three of Pelahatchie’s teams played (jr. high, jr. high varsity, and the varsity) All three teams put forth great “championship effort” which is what Coach Nutt calls it.

The jr. high never scored throughout the game, but they did fight hard in the last couple innings.

The jv was ahead 3-0 in the first two innings, and then in the last innings, the Rebels came back through for the win.

In the varsity game, both teams fought back and forth with each other, but the Rebels once again came out on top.

The score for the jr. high was 0-5,  the score for the jv was 12-5 and the score for the varsity was 6-3.

Come out and support our Chiefs in their upcoming season.
