Our Very Own All-Star Player: Jacey Cooper

The excitement and fans fill Mississippi College’s gym as the North and South teams prepare to play an anticipated match. The North and South All-Star game is a annual basketball game that is held every year in Clinton, MS.

This time around our very own Pelahatchie resident, Jacey Cooper would be one of the players playing in the game. Jacey is a junior who is a part of the Pelahatchie High School basketball and track team

Jacey maintains an A/B Honor Roll along with playing sports. Jacey was picked along with several other girls within the state to play for the South team coached by Pearlene Fairly and Holly Moncrief.

This would be a very new but good experience for Jacey Cooper. When the day finally came, she said, “I just put all of my nervousness and worries aside and just played the game I loved.”

And she did exactly. Jacey showed everyone in MC’s gymnasium that day what she had to offer. Along with the help of her teammates, coaches, and the support of friends and family, the South took a win over the North with the final score being 62-61.

Jacey stated, “I am blessed with the opportunity to play in the 2019 North vs. South All-Star game. I enjoyed playing with and against a few of my AAU  teammates and with my rivals. I had amazing coaches and teammates! I appreciate all of the people who came out and supported!! GO SOUTH!!! #wetookadub.”

This one certain game may now open many doors for Jacey and her future. Continue to follow the basketball career of Jacey to see what her next step will be.
