Unexpected Death On Deadpool 2 Set

Officers are investigating the death of stunt driver on August 14th, 2017.

On August 14th, 2017,  an unexpected tragedy in Deadpool 2 movie set occurred. Joi ‘SJ’ Harris died on set performing a motorcycle stunt.

Joi ‘SJ’ Harris, a 32-year-old woman, a stuntwoman, and the first African American female road racer. She became the stuntwoman for Zazie Beetz in the new movie Deadpool 2, because in similarities in their skintone.

Harris died when she lost control of the motorcycle, hit the curb going 10 mph, and hit the glass when performing the stunt in Vancouver, Canada. She had successfully performed the stunt 4 times and failed the 5th time.

Zazie Beetz and Ryan Reynolds paid a tribute for Joi ‘Sj’ Harris on set and on social media. Zazie posted a picture on Instagram stating,  “On Monday we tragically lost one of our own — Joi ‘SJ’ Harris. My heart has been breaking the past two days and I have been searching what to say or do. I know that what I feel is nothing compared to what her loved ones, friends and family, are feeling. My heart and my love goes out to her and them all. The cast and crew send peace, healing, and their deepest condolences.” Ryan Reynolds had a moment of silence on set for SJ and also posted on Twitter that the crew was “devastated”, “sad”, and “heartbroken” for the loss of Harris.

X-23 and (young) Cable are two of the new characters starring in Deadpool 2. Deadpool 2 releases in theaters on June 1, 2018.
