Hurricane Maria was a Category 5 storm that began on Sept. 5, 2017, and lasted through Sept. 16, 2017. The hurricane had caused many tragedies in the country.

Hurricane Maria caused Puerto Rico to lose electricity across their entire country, lives, homes, and more.  The hurricane lasted approximately 7 days.

The hurricane caused diseases, water pollution, and many other hazardous things.

The country is in need of a lot of materials such as water, money donations, clothing, food, and more.

Puerto Rico is now in struggling more economically than it was at first. Puerto Rico would need tens of billions of dollars to restore its shattered infrastructure.

President Trump stated in an interview, “Now, I hate to tell you, Puerto Rico, but you have thrown our budget a little out of whack because we have spent a lot of money on Puerto Rico.”

Puerto Rico may possibly not stand a chance to recover. President Trump and Puerto Rico administration are trying to work out an agreement on how to help repair the island.

Many celebrities, companies, and more are helping to transport donations to Puerto Rico.
