Thorn Hill Baptist Youth Work Towards Mission Trip
The youth group is currently selling chicken strips and Fresh Louisiana Strawberries. There will be future fundraisers to raise money for the trip to Louisiana in June of this year.

On February 16, the church held a belated Valentine’s dinner for the church’s senior citizens. Helping schedule, serve, and host the dinner, the youth group was complimented several times for their hard work and determination.

The church’s youth group enjoys going on mission trips and lending a helping hand wherever it is needed. However, whether the mission is here at home or in a state far away, money is required to spread the message.

Sara King is the Youth Leader at Thorn Hill Baptist Church. “Because we are a small country church, we raise the money to do [mission work],” said King.

Ms. King encourages everyone to give with a generous heart, not for the teens, but for the lives they touch in the process. “We will pray that everyone will bless us with their support. I pray that everyone remembers that when you support us, they become part of God’s work that we do through our Serve Project,” King said.

The church is unable to pay the expenses needed to fund their work and trips. However, the students do not mind working for their money.

Eric Davis is a student at Pelahatchie, and a member of the church’s youth group. “It teaches us responsibility,” Davis said. “Plus, it makes us aware of who is willing to work for their part versus the ones who are just trying to get away from the house for a little while.”

Thorn Hill Baptist Church is a small southern church located on Noblin Bridge Road in Pelahatchie, Mississippi. The Thorn Hill Baptist congregation consists of around fifty to sixty people.
